As usual, I seem to continue to be exactly two weeks behind! Enjoyed the show with a Bolivar (domestic) toro with three years age on it. Aging has mellowed it a bit, but still nice flavors.

Really liked the segment on lighting with a torch lighter. Too many people end up burning 1/4 inch of their cigar up, which does not help the taste. When possible, I use a ceder spill or “strike anywhere” kitchen matches. I put two of the matches together for a longer burn, and gently toast the foot until it is where a few puffs will get it going.

BUT… when out and about or in windy conditions, the torch is often the only way to go. Perfect suggestion about how to hold it a bit away. Don’t kill the cigar with the flame, simply let the heat do the job. Excellent advice and something you don’t hear much about.
