Podcast 128, 7/28/13 … After working through the mental gymnastics of the Monty Hall Problem, Jason and Tony share some love for Vato Cigars. Then Jason subjects poor, poor Tony to a gin martini taste test.
Hi, Mike! Yes, we got there this past Saturday. Ended up hitting Churchill’s in Southfield, then cruised through each of the three downtown casinos. Our trip report will appear in #130, due for release on 8/11.
Sorry I missed you. I just saw your other reply to me. Saturday wouldn’t have worked for me, but I hope you had a good time. Let me know the next time you venture over this way and I’ll take you to some of my favorite cigar haunts.
Sounds like an excellent plan. I’d like to get back to Detroit in September for more than just a walk-through. Might be a great time to enjoy a premium cigar with you!

I think that’s a great plan. I’d love to spend more time in MGM Detroit. That was, far and away, my favorite of the three. Of course, take the LIFE machine for $40 didn’t hurt! 😉
Mike
MGM is a great facility. VP pay tables aren’t the best, and table minimums are more than I am willing to play at, but I always enjoy the environment.
One of my favorite things to do when I don’t have much going on is to drive down there and spend the morning people watching, reading the paper, drinking free coffee and smoking a cigar in the U-Me-Drink bar on casino floor.
Keep me posted on your travels.

Oh, that sounds like a great way to spend the morning. Having visited that casino now, I can certainly understand why you’d people-watch there!
Did you guys end up hitting metro Detroit’s cigar scene about a week ago? I wasn’t going to be able to make it. If so, are any podcasts coming?
