Listened to this one while enjoying an RP Freedom. Medium to full and lots of flavor.

I also rolled my eyes at some of the Casino Player results. A couple of things may be happening:

    1. There may be some ballot stuffing. In polls of that size and nature, it is pretty easy to sway the results. At the end of the day, very few people take the time to vote.

    2. People tend to vote for name brands that are top-of-mind. Over the years in the Best Of poll by the Review-Journal, brands like Outback would win best steakhouse. In a city of amazing steakhouses.

    3. Voting pool: Even if no ballot stuffing, the readers of that magazine may all be pretty similar. Some group-think going on. We’ve seen that in various Vegas polls over the years.

But yes… when the results make you scratch your head (regardless of the poll), it tends to devalue the award.

Here’s why I think you’re spot on, Ted: I know I voted in the Casino Player Best of Gaming and I know I had to stop and think about certain places for “Best Casino” & “Where I feel luckiest”. So the idea of Group-Think doesn’t surprise me in the least…but some of the Group-Think for “Harrah’s”? I smell ballot box stuffing!
