There really is no “subject” to this specific blog post, it’s a bit a hodge-podge of thoughts, hence the reason why it’s under the “Uncategorized” category.
My wife and I have been going to Buffalo Wild Wings quite frequently and we almost always drink beer. Their “Tall” beer is a delicious 22 oz of malty goodness, I can usually handle two before hitting a wall. I’m still not completely hooked on beer. But I’m totally hooked on Buzztime Trivia. I’m pretty sure it was “NTN Trivia” back in 1999-2000 when I play A LOT of trivia and the local watering hole near campus when I was in college. Ah, the good ol’ days.
Now with the brisk days and cold evenings of Michigan weather, I can’t get outside to smoke a cigar nearly as frequently as I’d like. I do envy Jason that he has a 3-season room in which to smoke without sticking up the rest of his house. I guess this is a good excuse to go visit my local tobacconist more frequently and associate with other Brothers of the Leaf (BOTL). I might as well, it’s finally alcohol friendly again (sorta, they figure they’ll deal with whatever might come their way from the State) and we have a locker we never use during the summer season.
I’ve rediscovered the joy of 3 Card Poker, due in large part, to the fact I didn’t lose my ass when I played it out in Vegas last month. To the contrary, I actually won $100! The long and short of 3 Card: You get three cards plus the two community cards to try and make a poker hand of a pair of Tens or better. The better you do, the more you get paid. It’s a bit of a carnival game but with a house edge average of 2.25% (depending on pay schedule) you’re playing a game with a small to moderate house advantage. I enjoy it because it’s usually found with a $5 minimum bet and if you get dealt a hand with a pair of 10s or better, you’re guaranteed a 1 to 1 payback on each of the three bets you start off having made. On the other hand, if your hand never materializes, you’re out $5 for that hand. I’ll concede, it’s a slow bleed game, but one or two 10s or better/3OAK early on in the hand can make for a pretty pair out and get you back to (or above) even.
Alright, I think that’s all I have to say about my favorite vices for a while. Any random thoughts you like our readers should know about your favorite vice? Post below, we’d all love to hear ’em!!
